Why Theatre

We build mass awareness on social issues and disseminate information through interactive Street Theatre shows. It is a ground reality that conventional communication channels like newspaper, leaflets and brochures, radio or television have low reach among large sections of people owing to barriers like illiteracy, poverty, lack of electricity, geographical remoteness etc. Besides passive and generic style of communication have low impact.
Dramatic moments are used to deliver message and build audience participation.
Entertainment pulls crowd and easily captivates the direct attention of the audience. No other mode of communication can engross the direct attention of the audience for such a long time. Dramas depicting local situation and addressing local issues are very effective as the people can identify with the situations depicted in the play.

Drama helps in easy comprehension and overcomes barriers like illiteracy. It creates a forum for discussion of issues which are otherwise not openly discussed. Theatre in Development based techniques like forum theatre, invisible theatre and interactive theatre promotes audience participation and enables two-way communication.
