CamEra:  is our Facebook page.

The initiative CamEra, taken up by banglanatak dot com, focuses on promoting heritage through the lenses of the youth.

357 photographers registered at CamEra, 100 photographers exhibited their photographs in a public place photographic exhibition covering Kolkata’s heritage and lifestyle on Sept 20-22 and 27-29 across 20 different places covering North and South Kolkata, which was attended by 72000 people.

Based on the audience feedback from 3500 people and opinion from 3 judges (Ashok Majumdar, Rachele Zucchetti and Ranjan Sen), 30 top photographers and 200 photographs were selected.

In second round of exhibition held on Nov 8-21, 36 photographers including 5 mentors showcased their photography in 6 different galleries of Kolkata - Shobhaghar at EZCC , Gallery Gold, Maya Art Space, Oxford Bookstore, Weavers Studio Centre for the Arts and Shrimati Art Gallery at Baitanik, encompassing both tangible and intangible Cultural Heritage of Bengal. It may also be seen as an innovative way of reaching out to the youth on heritage education.

Best 50 photographs of the CamEra Project would be showcased at Sufi Sutra, 2014 to be held on Jan 31- Feb 2, 2014 at Mohar Kunj, Kolkata.
